WARPED - THE GIRL WITH THE SKIN LAYER MISSING

With the release of their last single firmly stating their talent and importance, WARPED return with a fantastic new E.P entitled 'THE GIRL WITH THE SKIN LAYER MISSING'. This is the opening track and it confirms instantly that this is a band with big plans and a bright future. From its quiet, guitar/singer intro to its all out Rock epic, there is not one moment where you feel let down. The band have been critised in the past for not being 'Dangerous' enough, but why bother when they are making music like this!

It is also clear that their playing ability has improved too. From Johnny C's funky bass line in the amazingly cool 'NOT LIKE US', to Wylding's wandering guitar parts in 'SKIN LAYER'. The band , musically, has matured and are showing a level of quality that is only shown in signed and established bands. They believe they are ready and this E.P does show that. They might not always have the backing of everyone else, but they have the belief themselves, and thats what matters.

The band once again don't fail to show their different sides of musical style. From the punk infested 'NO RESPECT' to the emotional rock ballad of 'SKIN LAYER' to the funk enriched, Chili Peppers style of 'NOT LIKE US', they always impress and never wear out. Wylding again proves that he is probably the best songwriter in the local area , and his style is maturing but the input from Jo, Richie and Johnny is valuable as ever and it makes it a group effort.

So I'll finish with this. This is a band moving up and this E.P is red hot. They expect big things from this and they WILL get them.. The industry, as they have said themselves, is stale and there is no-one pushing through to make a difference. They can, and with music like this should not have a problem. If you disagree I suggest you get a copy and then decide. Like I said, the future's bright, the future is WARPED.
